Welcome to the Winter Edition of Hope!

This Winter as we begin our Lenten journey on Ash Wednesday, we wish you a Lenten season of peace and healing. To say that we are dust is to embrace the truth that we belong to God, and that we are connected in time and space to one another and to all creation. By the sign of the ashes, we can recognize fellow pilgrims on the journey in our workplaces, marketplaces, and in the hustle of daily life.

This issue of Hope Magazine features many stories and examples of fellow pilgrims who have embraced the mission of Jesus Christ to ensure that his message of reconciliation, redemption, and hope reaches the hearts of the most abandoned. We have reports from our seminarians in the Bronx and San Antonio, as well as encouraging examples of vibrant ministries in our Mexico Province and among our Partners in Mission at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Finally, to support your Lenten journey this year we are offering you for free Fr. Ken Sedlak’s “Death & Resurrection” booklet of forty Lenten reflections.

As always, we thank you for supporting the Redemptorists’ ministries. We continue to hold you in our prayers. I hope that this online edition of Hope Magazine will further inspire and stimulate your faith. Please continue to pray together with us!

Yours in our loving Redeemer,

Reverend Kevin Zubel, C.Ss.R.
Provincial Superior, Redemptorists of the Denver Province
