Liguori Publications Prepares for a New Home

Former cloister

For those who visited 200 Liguori Drive when it was the home of the Redemptoristines, you will remember the striking features of the mid-century architecture prominent in the pastoral setting of Liguori, MO. The remaining Redemptoristines departed in May 2023, and while the red brick exterior structure remains unchanged, the interior transformation has begun – converting the space to the future home of Liguori Publications.

Former living space

The architects and contractors began the renovation process in the first week of March of 2024. It started with the process of asbestos abatement and once that was completed, they began tearing down the walls. Fr. Thomas Santa offered this perspective on the new beginnings in the March-April 2024 edition of Liguorian magazine: “The Monastery of St. Alphonsus located at 200 Liguori Drive is undergoing a complete renovation to make it suitable for our continuing publication efforts. The new space will be designed to accommodate twenty-five offices and a warehouse of 5,000 square feet. Most significantly, there will be a lot less paper! As we enthusiastically embrace digital publishing, our mission remains the same. Although our printed presence will be reduced, we will always deliver the same high-quality, pastorally focused products that have made and will continue to make Liguori Publications Catholic, pastoral, and trusted. I am very happy to be a part of this renewed effort and continued ministerial commitment.”

Former Novice Space

Included in this photo report is the view from the second floor of the former cloister, which will be used as the production fulfillment area; the former novice space that will be used as a first-floor conference room; the former Redemptoristine living space that will be converted to staff offices; and the future first floor fulfillment and warehouse area.
