Participants at colloquium conducted by Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church.

On Challenges of Human Mobility

By Rev. Mike McAndrew, C.Ss.R.

One year ago, the Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church (CTEWC), an organization of Catholic ethicists and moral theologians, invited me to participate in a colloquium to study the challenges of human mobility in the political horizons of Mexico and the United States from a Christian perspective. It brought together social and moral theologians from Catholic Universities of the United States, Mexico and several other Spanish-speaking countries of the Americas. Ten days before we met, I was asked to give a presentation at the event. After the event, I was asked to write an article for the CTEWC Journal of Moral Theology.

It was a challenge that was more exhausting than when I wrote the book, Walk with My People. It had to meet their professional standards and it was to be in Spanish. It was not to be my talk, but to take the theme that I presented and to write it with respect to the entire experience of the colloquium. My article is Chapter 15: “Challenges Regarding Immigration in the United States,“ pages 274-292.

The Journal was published on September 10, 2026. I am attaching a link to the book. At this time, it is only published in Spanish. If anyone wants an English copy, please ask for it by email to: padremigrante@gmail.com

The journal is now only available online; the book in Spanish will be published in the next two months. I hope that it will be online in English soon also.
